After a long wait the Asia Motorsports Challenge - Round 1 took place on 21st March. I had several issues in the morning that resulted in most of the engine components being replaced. I then had to abort qualifying leaving Heat 1 as my first run. Starting at the back of the grid the gremlins had gone and i made up 2 places and set new PB's; 55.568 secs!

Again starting Heat 2 at the back I managed a fifth place finish. I started 7th in the pre-final but got boxed in on turn 1, I then managed to gain 1 place finishing 6th. Starting the final in 6th I made up a couple of places at the start to only get boxed in again at turn 3 and ended up at the back of the pack. I managed to find some good pace and made up two places to six and so nearly 5th, finishing 7.5secs behind 1st place.

In summary a tricky day with some great improvements and close bumper to bumper racing. Only two weeks until Round 2; back at Sepang.

When will racing resume...?

As the CMCO gets further extended it looks like the potential for any racing in 2020 is become increasing unlikely... but I'm still...
